Ice Maker Repair in San Diego
Nearly every ice maker complaint turns out to be a water problem rather than an ice problem. Hollow or undersized cubes mean the mold is not filling — an overdue filter, low pressure, or a fill tube that has partly frozen. No production at all, in a freezer that is still cold, is the harvest side: module, thermostat or motor. We measure pressure at the inlet valve first, because that reading decides which repair you are paying for.

Reviews
Ice from the bar machine had gone small and hollow and I assumed the maker was finished. He measured what was actually reaching the valve before naming a part: scale in the screen, plus a filter well past its life. Nobody had told me the water here was that hard.

The wine cabinet is built into the dining room millwork and the lower shelves had been drifting warm since spring. He left a probe down among the bottles instead of trusting the panel, and it was the fan in that zone. He also chased down a hum I'd learned to ignore.

We're off the gas main out past Escondido and run on propane, and the Wolf has browned unevenly since the day it was installed. Everyone who looked at it before said that's just how it cooks. He checked the conversion instead, and it had never been finished properly.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
We are at the far end of the county, out toward Fallbrook or Valley Center. Does that change anything?
It changes how much the phone call is worth. A second trip out the 76 or up the 15 costs a day, so we ask more before setting off: model and serial number, which compartment is warm, whether the freezer is still hard frozen, any display code, and whether there is a gate or keypad at the drive. Same-day or next-day still applies.
Do you only work on Sub-Zero, or the rest of the kitchen as well?
The rest of it too, on the same visit where the schedule allows. Sub-Zero refrigeration is most of the week, Wolf ranges and ovens most of what is left, with Cove dishwashers, Thermador, Miele, Viking, Bosch, Asko and GE Monogram filling in the rest. Mention the second appliance when you book, because the ice maker nobody called about is usually the one starved longest.
